In a realm where borders are often perceived as lines of fear and separation, I believe in the transformative power of art to bridge divides and foster unity. . The dining table, as a transformative space, is explored in my work, where I delve into its metaphorical significance as a place where people gather to share meals and engage in conversations that transcend geographic boundaries. Attendees will witness culture extending beyond where boundaries blur and transitions become apparent. The dining table serves as a poignant reminder of our shared humanity. Exploring the stages of human existence: birth, life and death. The first stage, which symbolizes birth, is depicted through two skirts hanging on the wall. The first skirt symbolizes the womb, which represents the birth of life, while the second skirt symbolizes the transition to the outer world. This metaphor of crossing the border highlights the transition from the intimate confines of the womb to the vastness of the world beyond. Moving on to the second stage, the table is decorated with paper figures, and the figures are interwoven with cultural and religious differences and diverse orientations in a borderless world like a web of fabric, where conversations and shared meals from geographical and cultural boundaries are transcended. Finally, the culmination of the journey in the life cycle is represented by a crumpled, bodyless garment placed on a red cloth attached to a table. Embracing the inevitability of death, here the dining table becomes a space that reflects the passage of time and the impermanence of existence. However, amidst the sad reflection there is a sense of continuity, because on the fabric, a fetus, a metaphor for new life and new thinking, is being born. The cycle of life continues beyond the boundaries of mortality. I symbolize the crossing of not just geographical borders but also the borders of privilege and inequality. By highlighting the disparities between individuals' experiences and access to basic needs, my work calls for a global consciousness that recognizes and addresses these injustices. How do you see the concept of crossing borders in relation to the inequalities and struggles faced by different individuals around the world?
