Created on the shore of Yalıköy by the Black Sea, this land art project reflects on exile, cultural entanglement, and memory.
Inspired by Mithridates VI of Pontus, a Persian-rooted king who resisted Rome, the work imagines a ship made of stitched fabrics-carrying fragments of forgotten stories. A female rider, drawn in swift black lines, evokes the unseen forces in history.
In the oxygen-deprived depths of the Black Sea, the past is not erased-it is preserved. These fabrics return like messages from below, carried ashore by silent waves.
